One Direction Thanks Fans On Seventh Anniversary

Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles thanked fans on the seventh anniversary of the date One Direction was officially formed with them, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik. On Sunday, the hashtag “#7YearsOfOneDirection” trended worldwide on Twitter, and Payne was the first band member to acknowledge it with a tweet that read,” #7YearsOfOneDirection Wow! We’ve been on an incredible journey. Special thanks to all of our fans for being there.” He added, along with a heart emoji, “you inspire me everyday.”

After Payne, Tomlinson wrote, “#7YearsOfOneDirection wow where has the time gone! All the love to the lads and of course you fans! Thanks for sticking around :)” And Styles tweeted, “Thank you” seven times to commemorate the anniversary. Horan has yet to tweet, while Malik will probably not comment on the milestone.

And while Horan has yet to tweet, and Malik is not expected to comment on the anniversary, their fans have been posting comments all day on Twitter. One fan with the Twitter handle @ThatBoyFan wrote, “I cant thank them enough for everything, for all the times i was sad, the times i wanted to die but they were there #7YearsOfOneDirection.” Another user named @1DGPSOfficial expressed, “Exactly 7 years ago today, at this very moment, your lives changed & so did ours. Thank you, 1D.”

“#7YearsOfOneDirection It’s one of those days when the whole fandom can finally agree on one thing and it’s being proud of our boys,” added a fan with the account @lxrryxmofo. And one supporter named @one_directi__on shared the hope that the group would reunite in the near future. The fan tweeted, “They made a promise to come back and we made a promise to stay till the end soon we’ll come back stronger than ever #7YearsOfOneDirection.”

As Gossip Cop reported in 2015, Styles, Tomlinson, Payne and Horan announced they were going to take a “hiatus” from performing together. In the year in a half since they stopped performing together, they’ve each worked on solo music. And Styles not only released an album, but this week he’s also in the number one movie at the box office, Dunkirk. Whether One Direction regroups one day, only time will tell. In the meantime, their fans are celebrating their seventh anniversary with tweets and clips of the group’s many memorable performances.
