Many large races in Oregon's 2022 Primary Election remain undecided, because of vote counting issues in Clackamas County.

The county had a printing problem with the bar code on thousands of ballots that will need to be processed by hand.

Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan released the following statement:

"As Oregon’s chief election officer – and a Clackamas County voter — I am deeply concerned about the delay in reporting from Clackamas County Elections tonight. While I am confident that the process they are following is secure, transparent and the results will be accurate, the county’s reporting delays tonight are unacceptable. Voters have done their jobs, and now it’s time for Clackamas County Elections to do theirs.

"In recent days, my office and other counties have offered extra personnel to help with timely reporting. We eagerly await a response from county elections officials on how we can aid in the timely processing of results. I am disappointed that we have not seen more urgency from elections officials in Clackamas County."

Some races outside of Clackamas County have been decided.

Carrick Flynn has conceded to Andrea Salinas in the Democratic race for the 6th Congressional District. It appears Salinas will face Republican Mike Erickson.

In the race for Oregon's 5th Congressional District, Jamie McLeod-Skinner leads incumbent Kurt Schrader 61 to 39 percent. The winner will likely face Lori Chavez-Deremer, on the Republican side.

In the races for Portland City Council, Dan Ryan has retained his seat. Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty will face a runoff with either Rene Gonzales or Vadin Mozyrsky who are nearly tied.
