A Bellevue, Washington state drone owner nearly learned the hard way that using technology to intrude on the privacy of others is never a good idea. From the drone’s on-board camera we see the operator hovering around a woman’s back porch and presumably watching her via headset or secondary monitor. The video’s description reads: “We were flying our drone around, noticed our neighbor out on the deck, and started throwing things at the drone.” After noticing the hovering drone, a woman chucks a couple of rocks at it before rushing inside. She then hurries back outside with a gun, and aims it at the drone.
No shots were fired. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, it’s a federal crime to shoot down a drone.
