Michelle knew breast cancer ran in her family, on both sides, so she was diligent about getting her screenings every years since her early 30's. But in 2015, after almost cancelling her appointment because she was so busy, she ended up going...and found out she had breast cancer. After having a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction, Michelle now advocates for other women and spreads the word about how important regular screening is. She is very involved in the Jewish community, and works with Komen as well.
