We may soon be saying "bye bye" to those electronic scooters that we've been seeing all over town. Having them for use was a 4-month trail by the Bureau of Transportation, which started in July, so it's coming to and end. Then the Bureau will need to decide whether to make the scooters a permanent deal around Portland.
PBOT says riders have taken more than 472,000 trips on the E-scooters, so they've been pretty popular. They took a survey of more than 4,500 riders to help them decide if they'd keep them around. It shows over 63% use the scooters to save money on transportation, and another 27 % say they do it to help the environment.
I didn't find any stats on what people OTHER than riders think about them...like those of us driving cars or even walking. What do you think; should we keep E-Scooters as part of the Portland landscape, or is it too Portlandia for you?
