I've been emceeing the Jingle Bell Run for years and not only do I really enjoy it, but I know how important it is for funding the Arthritis Foundation's mission to conquer and cure arthritis. 54 million Americans have arthritis, including kids. It's a slow and painful deterioration of the body's bones, ligaments, cartilage and tendons.
The disease is serious, but the Jingle Bell Run is solid fun, with participants wearing their favorite holiday costumes decked out with bells. From the 5k and one-mile Kid's Run along the waterfront, to all of the festivities at the World Trade Center including a visit from Santa, a costume contest and complimentary food and treats.
Info: Sunday, December 2nd, 7 AM, World Trade Center downtown at 121 SW Salmon Street.
Register online by 5 PM today (11/28) for lower registration fee. After today, you can register in person at a higher fee on Saturday, 12/1 at the Portland Running Company from 10 AM - 5 PM, or at the World Trade Center on event day, December 2nd starting at 7 AM.
