On Tuesday K103 listener Jennifer Bergren of Tualatin failed to stump Bruce with this question:
Question: Where did "Growlers" get their name?
Answer: In the Late 1800's and early 1900's, fresh beer was carried from the local pub to your home by means of a pail. When the beer sloshed around in the pail, it created a rumbling sound as the CO2 escaped through the lid. The term "Growler" was coined.
