I learned about the importance of anatomical donations when I was in college at Portland State University, and writing for the school newspaper. I was assigned a story about the subject, and ended up with a visit to OHSU to talk to some doctors about the dire need and importance. They even had me visit the cadaver room, where students learn by working with donated bodies. It left a positive impression about being a donor. So when I saw this story, I thought I'd pass it along.
The family of Donovan, who's heart was donated when he died, was at "Donate Life Day" at a St. Louis Cardinals game, when the family of the recipient of Donovan's heart noticed their t-shirts with his picture on it. They approached them, and the rest is in the story below.
