Viral Moment Inspires Children's Book

Remember the adorable little girl that captured everyone’s heart when she was photographed in a museum staring at Amy Sherald’s painting of Michelle Obama? That child, Parker Curry – with the help of her mom, Jessica – will be featured in her own children’s book.

Jessica said that when Parker was three, she was convinced that the former First Lady was a queen and she wanted to follow in her royal footsteps. That’s what inspired “Parker Looks Up: An Extraordinary Moment.” It chronicles two friends on a trip to a museum admiring the paintings and portraits they see. “My sincerest hope is that our book will continue to resonate that moment’s power and promise, its hope and dreams, its inspiration and indelible impact with Parker, her generation, and generations to follow.” she explained.

Parker Looks Up: An Extraordinary Moment,” from Simon and Schuster will be available in bookstores October 15th.
