How to Become a Foster Parent in Oregon & Washington

Growing up here in Portland, my family was a Foster Family, meaning we took in Foster children. Through the years we welcomed more kids than I can count today, and several remained family members through their lives, although sadly, three have since passed. One Foster brother, Kevin, is still family, and his story is a very happy ending. It's not an easy adventure for the parents/family and for the Foster child, but it is rewarding. It's not for everyone, but good Foster homes are in high demand.

My "Tell Me Something Good" story this morning was about the new Muppet character, Karlie, who is a Foster child. It prompted me to want to post information about what it takes to be a Foster parent. Maybe it's for you.
