On Tuesday, K103 listeners Doug & Susan Watson from Banks failed to stump Bruce with this question:

Question: Who inspired the creation of charcoal briquettes and why?

Answer: Henry Ford, in 1920, as a way to utilize wood waste due to the manufacture of the Model T. (then the head of the chemistry department at U of O formulated and designed the form of the charcoal briquettes that we know today)
