OHSU Research Finds That Short Bouts of Exercise Could Make You Smarter

We all know that regular exercise is good for our general health, but new research shows that it may make you smarter too! Neuroscientists at OHSU have discovered that short burst of exercise directly boosts the function of a gene that increases connections between neurons in the region of the brain associated with learning and memory. Short-term, but intense exercise, like a weekly game of pickup basketball or 4,000 steps are examples of the type of exercise they're talking about.
