Ironic that this story pops up today after I went to Nordstrom yesterday to get new make-up. A new study found high levels of toxic chemicals in 52% of 231 makeup products purchased in the U-S & Canada, they’re called PFAS. Some of the highest levels were found in foundations, waterproof mascara, and long-lasting lipstick. What's also scary is that 88% of the products failed to disclose any ingredients that would explain those toxic chemicals on their labels, even though it’s a requirement of the FDA. The article doesn’t give the names of the makeup brands, but our government is aware of it because they introduced the “No PFAS in Cosmetics Act” today.
