I Know That Song! The One About Part-Time Lovers

Hey while your'e getting ready for your day, holla out to Alexa, "Alexa, play K103 on iHeart Radio" because boy do we have the fun for ya at 7:10a with I Know That Song! All those fun facts you never needed to know behind your favorite songs. Today's song is actually pretty self explanatory. And it's quite the toe-tappin' good time for a song about cheating.

Number One in 1985, this song is about a cheating couple, and the machinations they go through to keep their affair a secret. They are part-time lovers because they have to keep it on the down-low:

We are strangers by day, lovers by night

Knowing it's so wrong, but feeling so right

The song ends in a twist, when it becomes clear to the singer that his wife has a part-time lover of her own who is playing the same game.

The singer says that he has been in a similar position, with a guy calling his home and trying to disguise his voice when he answered it.

The song featured R&B singer Luther Vandross singing the ad-libs and backing vocals, in addition to Syreeta Wright and Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire.

This reached #1 on the Billboard Pop, R&B, Dance and Adult Contemporary charts, making this singer the first artist to score a #1 hit on four different Billboard charts.

You guessed it long ago...today's song is Part Time Lover by Stevie Wonder
