Join us daily at 7:10 to find out fun new facts about songs you love and have heard many times. After the holidays we'll go back to our regular version of I Know That Song, but for now it's all Christmas music. So...Today's song:

According to the Amazon Music mini documentary about the song-Yes, it is so big that it has its own documentary-the record label initially thought the album would just be covers, but thankfully today’s superstar got inspired by the Christmas spirit and wrote her own hit instead.

This song has charted every holiday season since its original release 26 years ago. Due to the song's lasting impact, this singer was dubbed the "Queen of Christmas". As of 2017, the song was reported to have earned $60 million in royalties.

Critics have noted the song is a tad reminiscent of the works of Judy Garland and Nat King Cole, as it hearkens back to "'60s and '70s Motown covers of prewar Christmas classics. In Vogue, a writer stated: "those lyrics could have been sung by Frank Sinatra...I think that's what gives it that timeless, classic quality.”

Last year, the song won three records in Guinness World Records for one of the best-selling and most recognizable Christmas songs, most streamed song on Spotify in 24 hours (female) and most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song (20) titles. And the ringtone for the song has proven so popular that it has actually outsold the single itself.

This song is so big that the artist makes $600,000 to $1 million in royalties every Christmas from it. And...This year she will earn even more thanks to an Apple TV+ deal that will have her deliver what might become an annual "Christmas Special” (Said special is on the watchlist for tonight in the Lynn Household)

There’s a “Superfestive” version of this song that was only released in Italy in 2011 and in that version this singer takes a backseat to Justin Bieber. The duet is the 2nd song on Justin’s holiday album, Under the Mistletoe and The music video features Bieber in Macy's department store in New York City, and features Bieber shopping with his friends whilst she is seen singing in the background- on her own song.
