I Know That Song! The One From Coyote Ugly

Today’s song was written by famed songwriter Diane Warren, who also wrote today’s singer’s biggest hit "How Do I Live." This song reached #1 in Australia, where it was their highest selling single in 2001. Despite being closer to a dance number, and due to this artist’s previous success in country music, it still made it to number 61 initially on the Billboard Country Song chart even though this song was not officially released to country radio.

Today’s singer originally auditioned for the 2000 film Coyote Ugly to sing this song at the ending with Piper Perabo but, once she watched some cuts of the film, she decided to provide the singing voice for ALL the songs sung by Perabo. Therefore, in the closing scene, where she and Perabo's character sing, today’s singer is effectively duetting with herself!

This singer’s first marriage ended in 2009 following press coverage of her extramarital affair with actor Eddie Cibrian while she worked with him on Northern Lights (a Lifetime made-for-TV film)

RHOBH's Brandi Glanville, Cibrian's wife at the time and the mother of his two sons, filed for divorce as a result of the affair in August 2009, ending eight years of marriage. In 2010, today’s singer spoke for the first time about the end of her first marriage stating; "I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt, but I don't regret the outcome."

On December 27, 2010, she and Cibrian were engaged and later wed in 2011 at a private home in California.

Today’s singer started her career in musical theatre, performing in a Dallas production of A Christmas Carol, and almost landing the lead part in the Broadway production of Annie. She was “discovered” on Star Search a talent competition that paved the way for shows like America’s Got Talent and American Idol. From there she followed her heart to the world of country music.

She was signed by CURB records and they released her song Blue. She revealed in a 2016 interview that they accidentally released the version of Blue that she recorded when she was 11 years old! People started calling her the next Patsy Cline.

The Blue album sold 123,000 copies in its first week, the highest figure in SoundScan history at that time. It peaked at number one on the Top Country Albums and number three on the Billboard 200 albums chart

While she appeared on and won Season 4 of the Masked Singer, she hasn’t released any new music since 2016. As of that time, today’s song was still her biggest hit to date.

It’s LeAnn Rimes. Can’t Fight The Moonlight. I know that song.
