I Know That Song! The One From The Wealthiest Female Musician In The World

Today’s MEGA STAR is a Barbadian singer, actress, fashion designer, and businesswoman! With sales of over 250 million records worldwide, she is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

She has earned 14 number-ones and 31 top-ten singles in the US, nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and six Guinness World Records. But she has known a lot of struggle despite all that success

Her childhood was deeply affected by her father's alcoholism in 2009, her scheduled performance at the Grammy Awards was cancelled. Reports had surfaced that then-boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, had physically assaulted her. He was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats. On March 5, 2009, Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats.

NONE of these setbacks have affected her ability to prevail and rise above: Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2018. Forbes ranked her among the top ten highest-paid celebrities in 2012 and 2014. As of 2021, she is the wealthiest female musician, with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion.

Even though she's a billionaire now because she never forgets her humble beginnings. For every dollar she makes, she wants to give it back, to help and inspire others.

She said recently, “...it feels good to be able to inspire young women and boys, who like me, come from humble beginnings, who come from parents who are immigrants or who are immigrants themselves, to be able to do this.”

Today’s song is from this singer’s fifth album, ‘Loud’. Its lyrics describe Rihanna demanding physical attention from her lover, and a number of critics praised her decision to move away from the dark themes of her previous album, Rated R from 2009.

The song reached number one on the United States' Billboard Hot 100 chart two weeks after Loud's second single, "What's My Name?", peaked at number one. It was the first time in the chart's history that an album's lead single reached number one after its second single. She performed this on SNL on Saturday Night Live and this song won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2011, marking a triumphant return just two years after she canceled her Grammy performance in the wake of those earlier struggles with Chris Brown.
