The driver of the ‘pup bus’, Tyson Cash, was doing his rounds to bring clients’ dogs to daycare. Coming to a house he knew well, a Labrador retriever named Motley was waiting for the bus like normal, but this time he had a friend.
Tyson contacted Motley’s owners to ask who the new dog was, but the owners said they had not adopted any new dogs.
As Tyson drove off, the yellow Lab gave chase. Tyson asked his wife to take a video and photo of the dog alongside the bus to post on social media to see if anyone in the area knew who his owners were.
After some leads and detective work, they found that the dog had a microchip, but was covered in ticks and fleas, and suffering from malnourishment.
His name was Waylon and Tyson was able to organize a transfer of ownership from the previous owners without learning anything about the former.
