The Netflix Show Opening Dance That Had Nicole Kidman, Cast Revolt

Last week, Netflix released the murder mystery series The Perfect Couple, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s book about a rich family hosting a wedding on Nantucket. Despite the dark theme of the show there's a fun opening dance sequence to Meghan Trainor's song Criminals that the cast did NOT want to do.

Meghann Fahy who plays Merritt said there was a WhatsApp cast chat and everyone was calling their agents saying they didn't want to do it. “I actually have a really, really huge issue with learning choreography so I was very nervous about it.” Nicole Kidman added: “I didn’t feel like Greer would dance. I felt like Greer would watch.”

The one dude who loved it was Liev Schreiber, who plays Greer’s husband Tag Winbury. “I wasn’t in that [WhatsApp] chain,” he said. “The entire cast had a mutiny about this idea except for me, I was already in my trailer practicing the dance moves. I just, like, dancing, and I was kinda disappointed when it came out that I’m not in it more because I thought I did it really well.”
