Thanks to Emily in Forest Grove who shared this story from the Oregon Coast. (Thanks to KATU)
Daphne the Dachshund is safe and sound after getting stuck inside a hollow log thanks to the helpful heroes of the Warrenton Fire Department!
Daphne managed to get stuck around 15 feet inside the log while at Social Security Beach in Fort Stevens State Park. Firefighters used specialized equipment, including battery-powered extrication tools and a chainsaw to very carefully split the log open to free Daphne, taking care to keep her safe throughout the process.
Thanks to the team's quick and skilled efforts, Daphne was successfully rescued and returned to her grateful owner. I think Daphne deserves her own Facebook page. I'd follow the (mis)adventures of Daphne The Dachshund wouldn't you?
