David Sullivan, founder of Code Blue CPR, recently installed what is believed to be the world’s highest defibrillator near Mount Everest Base Camp at an elevation of over 16,500 feet.
Just three weeks after returning to the UK from Nepal, Davic received word that the device had saved the life of a 30-year-old French woman whose heart had stopped in the early morning hours.
A local sherpa activated the defibrillator, which had been installed after David climbed to 22,000 feet to test it and held CPR and defibrillator training sessions for villagers in the area.
David hopes stories like the one on Everest demonstrate the urgent need for widespread CPR training and access to life-saving equipment.
