FIREWORKS DISPLAYS
The Waterfront Blues Festival downtown is 2 days this year; Friday 4th and Saturday 5th. You can also take in the festival from the water and celebrate the Fourth of July with an all-inclusive dinner cruise on The Portland Spirit.
Oaks Park 4th of July Spectacular still has some tickets available. Your ticket includes all day rides and the fireworks at 10pm, however parking is a separate fee.
The Happy Valley 4th of July Family Festival will include family-friendly activities, a parade, food vendors, booths, inflatables and games, and will end with a fireworks show.
In Mt. Angel, the parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Kennedy High School. Fireworks will be displayed over the athletic fields between the middle school and high school. The celebration will begin at 8 p.m. with a performance from the Marion County Citizens Band.
Woodburn will host a celebration at Centennial Park from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event will include food, games, live music and a firework show beginning at 10 p.m.
The 4th of July Spectacular will be held at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. It will include family-friendly activities, carnival rides, food vendors, booths, games and will end with a fireworks show.
The Oregon Garden event will feature live music, food trucks and family activities. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
Independence will holding its annual Independence Days on July 3-4. It will include family-friendly activities, a grand parade, mini marathon, talent show, duck derby race, food vendors, booths, games, and will end with a fireworks show.
Detroit Lake is saving up for next year so they're hosting a fireworks fundraiser featuring live music, a beer garden, dancing, food trucks and more on July 4. The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. and is raising money for the 2026 fireworks show.
But you can view both fireworks displays without an actual ticket. There are several locations to do that including Tom McCall Waterfront Park, Sellwood Park at Southeast Seventh Avenue and Miller Street, Morrison Bridge and Hawthorne Bridge. As you would expect, parking is going to be a challenge, so if you can, take TriMet, MAX rail or the Portland Streetcar.

Tanabata, the Star Festival, is one of five seasonal festivals that have been celebrated in Japan since the eighth century and Sunday they'll be celebrating at Portland Japanese Garden.
The annual Helvetia Lavender Festival will be held the first two weekends in July: Friday through Sunday. This popular and well-known mid-summer family activity is located in the beautiful hills of Helvetia, just off Sunset Highway (Exit 61)
