Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Trapped Kitten Survives Hours Long Drive

On what was supposed to be just another long drive from Sacramento to Santa Cruz, Amelia Escalante ended up with a surprise passenger: a tiny kitten that had somehow crawled into the undercarriage of her car and held on for more than 100 miles of freeway driving.

Terrified and hidden deep inside the vehicle, the kitten refused to come out until a determined local autobody shop owner, Max Eder, and his team spent seven hours using specialized tools to track her down. Against the odds: the heat, the noise, and the miles of road the little stowaway survived.

When the kitten finally emerged, crying but safe, the Escalante family knew it was meant to be. They named her Rover, after the Range Rover she rode in, and welcomed her into their home.
