Three women in Houston are incredibly lucky to be alive after their car crashed through a barrier, flew off an overpass, and landed upside down on the freeway below.
The Toyota was badly crushed and smoking, but almost immediately, strangers began pulling over and running toward it. They grabbed sledgehammers, metal poles, anything they could find, and even used their bare hands to try to reach the women trapped inside.
Firefighters arrived and were eventually able to free all three women and take them to the hospital. Remarkably, each of them survived with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but what stands out today is the courage of those strangers who saw people in danger and, without hesitation, worked together to help save their lives.
