Last summer, Reed and his 10-year-old son, Colby, made a simple promise: They would play catch every day for an entire year.
They kept tossing the same baseball through rain, snow, darkness, and busy travel days, sometimes getting Colby’s brother and sister involved to keep the streak alive. After hundreds of throws and plenty of creative planning, they proudly reached day 365.
Colby dreams of becoming a major-league player and loves the extra practice, but his favorite part has simply been spending time with his dad every day.
Reed says they may retire the well-used baseball that made the full journey, but they have no intention of ending their tradition.
