Judi Oyama started skateboarding when she was just 13 years old, on a board her brother made.
More than 50 years later, she is still racing, still competing, and still showing up for the sport she helped pioneer. Last year, she extended her own Guinness World Record
When she started, there were not many girls in the sport, so she often had to practice alone and remind herself that she belonged there.
Her message now is simple and powerful: do not be afraid to try. If something brings you joy, keep doing it as long as you can.
