Jane Sayner had rented the same two-bedroom home in Melbourne, Aus for more than 20 years when her landlord, John Perrett, called with unbelievable news: he was leaving her the house. Jane says she still pinches herself and quietly thanks him every few days.
John was a self-made millionaire, pharmacist, soccer lover, and generous community guy. When he died in 2020, he left Jane the home she loved and donated the rest of his fortune, nearly $20 million Australian dollars, to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he’d received a kidney transplant that lasted 30 years.
Jane retired at 74 and still lives there, thanks to John, whose final act of kindness changed her life.
