Thousands of Station Casinos employees in Vegas showed up for the company’s 50th anniversary celebration thinking they were just there to mark a milestone. Instead, they got the kind of surprise you never forget.
The Fertitta brothers announced that nearly 10,000 team members would receive $1,000 in company stock for every year they’ve worked there. All together, that adds up to about $70 million in stock awards going directly to employees.
And some of those stories are pretty incredible. A few employees have been with the company for more than 45 years, including one woman who started back in 1977 and received $49,000 in stock.
Another longtime employee said she could have gone somewhere else over the years, but Station Casinos felt like home. That’s what makes this so meaningful. It’s not just a bonus. It’s a company saying, “We see you. We value you. You helped build this.”
