Three years ago, 3-year-old Lila Pagan was critically injured when she was accidentally run over by a truck. Florida firefighters arrived at a chaotic scene, and her mom, Pam, wasn’t sure her little girl would even make it to the hospital.
But she did and today Lila is six years old, healthy, energetic and constantly on the move.
And here’s the part we love: the firefighters who saved Lila that day never really left her life. They’ve shown up for birthdays, Christmas and other milestones, and at the firehouse she’s simply known as “Baby Girl.”
Lila’s family has become part of their family, too Pam was even one of the first people to congratulate one of the firefighters when he became a paramedic.
And one of them says he fully expects to be at Lila’s wedding someday.
