Illinois’ Boylan Catholic High School recently published its guidelines for prom attire online. It dedicates one sentence and four photos to what’s appropriate for boys to wear--next to an exhaustive array of photos and regulations outlining what is and isn’t okay for female students.
"Some girls may wear the same dress, but due to body types, one dress may be acceptable while the other is not," the guide reads. When the guide was unveiled at school, some offended female students “booed the teacher,” CNN reports. Now some students are thinking of holding their own prom outside of school to protest what they consider to be “body-shaming.”
