This is "nacho" ordinary baseball-rivalry story. On Monday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell leapt into the crowd to attempt a second-inning catch and wound up spilling a Cardinals fan's nachos all over.
While Russell walked away with melted cheese dripping from his hand and stadium staff soon replaced Andrew Gudermuth's nachos with a fresh order, Russell later returned to the scene of the crime with another plate of nachos for the fan. "Thank you, Cubs and Cards. Unforgettable," Gudermuth wrote on Twitter alongside a selfie of him posing with Russell. (Gudermuth has since changed his Twitter name to "Nacho Man.")
Meanwhile, Russell said after the game, "I didn't see the fence and collided with it and got all nacho'd up." Unfortunately for Gudermuth, his Cards lost 10-2 while the Cubs cliched at least a tie for the NL Central title.
