The nation's leading internet providers are slashing the cost of broadband service for low-income Americans. Twenty internet providers, including AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon, have agreed to provide high-speed internet service for no more than 30 dollars a month for millions of low-income customers.
The price cut is coming out of an agreement with the Biden administration that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will announce today at the White House. It's part of the administration's push to make fast, affordable internet service available in rural areas and on tribal lands.
