I-5 Reopens After Semi Crash

One lane of I-5 southbound will remain closed, because of fire damage following Tuesday's semi crash.

A semi was stopped on the side of I-5 North of the Woodburn exit when it was sideswiped by another semi.

There was a fire that spread fast.

24-year-old Gagendeep Singh was driving the truck that was stopped. He and his passenger, 38-year-old Baljit Singh, were not injured.

The driver of the truck that hit them, 51-year-old Rex Hollopeter, from Salem, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The left and center lanes of the freeway have reopened. The right lane will remain closed until the weather is dry enough for re-paving.
