Stone Soup PDX is quietly doing some of the most impactful work in Portland by combining nourishment with opportunity. As a local nonprofit, they use hands-on food service training to help people facing real barriers to employment build practical skills, confidence, and stability. Participants gain culinary experience in a working production kitchen and café while receiving job readiness support that prepares them for long-term success. At the same time, Stone Soup PDX addresses food insecurity head-on, preparing and delivering more than 1,700 nutritious meals every week to shelters and community organizations throughout the city.
The impact is both immediate and long lasting. See David's story here! In 2025 alone, Stone Soup PDX prepared more than 80,000 meals while supporting 79 individuals on their path to stable employment, proving that food can be a powerful vehicle for dignity, purpose, and change. Every meal served represents not just nourishment, but a step forward for someone rebuilding their future. If you believe in solutions that strengthen both people and community, now is a great time to support this work.
