A Florida couple are celebrating 80 years of marriage and over 8 decades of being a couple. Here are Vic and Marge Gerard, and their children, talking about their long relationship.
A lifetime of golf, dancing and love began on a New Jersey beach.
That’s Gerard, he’s 101. He says he rode buses and trains to see Marge.
During war time, they sent letters.
On April 25, 1943, they became husband and wife. They became the Gerards.
The couple have six children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Their daughter Teri calls it a real love story, “Love at first sight”
Over eight decades, as the world changed around them, Vic and Marge had each other.
Marge still calls Vic the “most wonderful man in the world.” Vic says the secret for them is “Being lucky, being honest and take care of each other.”
