K103 Things To Do This Mother's Day Weekend, May 12-14

It's Doggie Dash time again! Mike and I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend Saturday morning at Waterfront Park.

Need a cool place to escape the heat this Mothers Day weekend? Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be filled with unique small businesses from the Portland area. More than 150 local small businesses will be set up with lots of great gifts for Mother's Day. Unique Markets hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets start at 10-dollars.

Finders Keepers returns to Lincoln City this Weekend. 50 glass floats will be hidden along the beach, these are hand-blown floats made by glass artists from around the state. Might be just the cool escape from the record high expected heat for Mother’s Day.

It's Asian Heritage Month. Celebrate at Portland’s Lan Su Chinese Garden.

Saturday is Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. More than 400-thousand people are food insecure with more than 100-thousand being children. Just leave non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox before the letter carrier arrives on Saturday. The food goes to local food banks and the donations will help them with distributions through the summer.

Krispy Kreme is celebrating Mother’s Day with the release of an all-new “Minis for Mom” collection. Because when the donuts are mini there are no calories. The new Minis for Mom collection is available in a 16-count box with new flavors like a strawberry iced heart and cookies & kreme doughnut.

The Classic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, driven by one “Corndog” Clara,” a Portland Native, who cut the mustard to score the “frank”tastic driving gig. Keep Portland Wienered! Meet up with the Wienermobile and grab a picture:

Looking ahead...

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Heritage Month and a happy coincidence, it’s also Oregon Wine Month. Hence the brand new local festival from Cho Wines showcasing AAPI winemakers and chefs in Oregon. The festival is next weekend May 20-21 at Stoller Family Estate in Dayton.
