Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Portland Custodian Saves Child From Choking

Thanks to Genevieve in Salem for sending today's Happy News. We LOVE the local stories, keep those coming!

Portland custodian, E-Lois Williams, went into "mama mode" when she saw a student choking at Rosa Parks Elementary. She quickly ran over and performed the Heimlich maneuver, saving the fourth-grade student who was choking on rice.

E-Lois, a mother of three, had received first-aid training from her previous job at a hospital. She takes her role as custodian seriously, treating all the students at the school as her own "babies."

This was the first time she had to use her training, and she was grateful that she remembered everything instantly.
