A 40-year-old Las Vegas man who has type 1 diabetes is thanking his Apple Watch for saving his life after it called 911 when he fell unconscious.
Josh Furman said that when his blood sugar gets low, his insulin pump alerts him by sounding an alarm, but earlier this year, when his blood sugar was so low, he lost consciousness while home alone and hit his head on the floor.
According to the Apple website, the Apple Watch SE series 4 or later can detect a hard fall and if the person is immobile for about one minute, it will automatically contact emergency services.
