Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Christmas Trees Make Great Goat Treats

Today's Happy News is thanks to Brian in Portland. Please let us know if you have feel good story.

There are many ways you can recycle your real Christmas tree, and this is a unique one. A farm in Pennsylvania has hundreds of goats, cows and sheep…and it’s very expensive to feed them.

But what they’ve learned over the past few Christmases is that their animals love to eat pine trees, especially the goats. The farmers say the pine trees actually provide essential vitamins and nutrients for the animals and help with digestion.

The farmers say a herd of goats can gobble up an entire tree in about 30 minutes. They say it's a treat for the goats.

So this year, they’re accepting as many old Christmas trees as possible. They say nothing on a farm ever goes to waste.
