Alphaville was a German synth-pop act that was big in the 80's. Not here so much, but in Europe. It's crazy to me that this song never charted on the American Top 40 because it feels so ingrained in our culture. Other artists have covered the song, it's been on movie soundtracks...the band even released it three times in the US. Oh, and One Direction even chose this as their winner's single for the UK X-Factor. Alas they came in third. (robbed, I say ROBBED)
