Not-the-Daily-Drip for Sunday, March 3, 2019

Here's a quick Sunday Daily Drip for no particular reason other than to say....what a beautiful day it is! Portland's weather today is bright and sunny with highs around 40. East wind 10 to 20 mph. Gusts 25 to 35 mph, strongest near the Columbia Gorge. Portland's sunrise was at 6:45 AM, and sunset will be at 6 PM straight up...and remember...one week from today, we make the switch to Daylight Time. I'm going to make a point of not grousing about the switch to DST this year. It's an inconvenience, but I'm tiding of marching for miles in the dark!

I'm also making a point of not watching much or any news today. Stuff's been getting me down lately...as yesterday's post indicated...but real life, apart from, well, you know...the news..is beautiful. I did check up on Southern Oregon's powersituation, because Portland media are getting rightly chided for paying insufficient mind to the weeklong ordeal of our fellow Oregonians, and progress is being made in getting the juice back on. Pacific Power is down from 30K to about 1,000 still out, but Lane Electric Cooperative warns that it may be March 7 before their customers are fully restored. So I went to the comics and the Sunday Jumble, which I solved in less thirty seconds today...really easy...and I found a few "something good stories" which I'll post right here. Just click on the headlines, and they should pop up.

Puppy’s Reaction To Mufasa’s Death In “The Lion King” Has Millions Tearing Up.

This has been an all-family, all-the-time weekend for me. Then we watched "Bohemian Rhapsody" on-demand last night ($5.99 on Amazon Prime; DirecTV's pay-per-view kept crashing), and I was floored by the wonderfulness of it. The best medicine. And today, I have some storm debris to chop up and some baseball to watch, and though it's colder than March should be, I may inaugurate IPA season on the deck. What's happening on your planet?
