Facebook, one of the biggest tech companies in the world, says it has its eyes on Portland.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg said half of Facebook’s workforce could be remote by 2030.
Many of them are working from home right now due to the coronavirus, and an employee survey found that 20% of workers are “extremely or very interested" in working form home after the pandemic ends.
Zuckerberg says they want to start recruiting people from the Portland area. He adds that getting input from people who live in different places could bring fresh perspectives.
They will also be looking for people within a four-hour drive of Portland, San Diego, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.
