Martin, Fletch, and lead singer Dave are an English trio that actually started as a duo with a different singer. Fletch says his buddy roped him into forming “No Romance in China” a total rip off of The Cure.
The lineup would change with accidental guitarist Andy “Fletch” Fletcher eventually joining Martin Gore and lead singer Dave Gahan.

A band that has been called the most popular electronic band the world has ever known" by Q magazine and the 10th most successful dance club artist of all time according to Billboard and in January of last year was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with an induction ceremony originally scheduled to take place in May, but was postponed due to COVID-19.
