Looking For Cheap Flights? The U.S. Airports Cost The Least To Fly From

Summer travel is upon us and Harry Reid International Airport, previously McCarran International Airport had the lowest airfare in the U.S. until now. The cheapest flights this year leave from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida. Last year, the average airport price was $233.36. Orlando International Airport, Florida, had the second-lowest average cost at $241.01. Harry Reid International Airport averaged $247.53 for airfare. Miami International Airport ($263.76) and Tampa International Airport ($270.88) round out the top five. 

Dulles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Detroit Metro Airport have the highest average airfare.  Dulles and San Francisco had average airfares over $400, while Detroit Metro's was $366.33. FinanceBuzz notes that the average fare at these three airports is $150 higher than at the three cheapest. Portland International Airport ($364.40) and John F. Kennedy International Airport ($360.94) round out the top five.
