You may have heard us tell you last year about the story from back in 2016, when Wanda Dench texted an invite for Thanksgiving dinner to the wrong number. She meant to send the message to her grandson, but instead it went to a young man named Jamal Hinton.
Once Wanda realized her mistake, she asked if Jamal would stop by for dinner anyway. Jamal did, and their friendship grew from there. For the past seven years, they’ve been sharing Thanksgiving together. This will be year eight, and they’re making it extra special.
The pair joined forces with Airbnb to open Wanda's home for two others to share the day with. It includes seats at their Thanksgiving table, then playing board games, watching a holiday movie and taking their annual selfie to post on social media. Wanda and Jamal want to make the holiday as meaningful for others as it’s been to them.
