A 97-year-old woman in Michigan named (eye-la-jean) Ilagene Doehring got to relive her days as a cheerleader, thanks to her high school’s current team.
She was reminiscing about those days with her caretakers at her assisted living facility and told her caretakers all about how she made the school’s first cheerleading uniform herself and she wanted to wear one again.
Her caretakers took to social media to ask for help, hoping to make Doehring’s wishes come true.
The school’s current cheer coach was able to help get Ilagene back into a cheer uniform. She and her cheerleaders surprised Ilagene at her assisted living center with her own uniform and they all performed a few cheers with her.
