The Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology runs now through Sunday at OMSI. More than 170 films along with animation screenings, guest speakers, networking events, and special parties. Bringing together filmmakers, artists, and film enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate independent cinema and emerging media.

Hood To Coast, the most popular and largest running/walking relay race in the world, is Friday August 28. Runners from over 40 countries and all 50 states come to Oregon for the Mother of All Relays. 8-12-member relay teams start at the iconic summit of Mount Hood and end at the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. This 196-mile relay (128 miles for Portland To Coast) has filled its team limit for the past 37 years and on Opening Lottery Day for 33 consecutive years.

If you use i5 near the Rose Quarter, hope you’re planning your work around. The 5 week closure of I-5 southbound at I-405 begins Sept 11. Crews will be doing major repairs to the freeway surface and that closure will last up to five weeks. All I-5 southbound traffic will be directed onto I-405.
