Lavender season is in full bloom! Just outside Hillsboro, the Helvetia Lavender Festival lets you pick your own bundles, then stick around for local artisans, food, wine. At Willamette Valley Lavender in Canby you can pick your own, take part in wreathmaking workshops and shop all kinds of lavender products.

This Sunday Portlanders are invited to help BIKETOWN create the largest electric bicycle party and ride with the goal of blowing past the record held by Seattle…they earned the Guinness World Record with 405 e-bikes in 2018. Check in is 8:30 Sunday at Salmon St. Springs.

The first of three Milwaukie Porchfests is Friday. Free performances on porches, driveways and public spaces across Milwaukie. People are encouraged to walk or bike their neighborhoods, meet their neighbors, and share their talents with the community.

The Portland Pride Festival kicks off at Waterfront Park Saturday at 12pm. The Parade steps off Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the North Park Blocks and concludes at the Festival at SW Harvey Milk Street. Always a fun, feel good time with live performances on multiple stages, activities.

Just up Harvey Milk Street at Midtown Beer Garden is "Play With Pride" Saturday and Sunday. Of course great brews, food carts and live performances from 12p-6p both days.

The mother of all tribute shows, HAREFEST returns to Canby. It's like adult summer camp with 20 live bands paying tribute to Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, Motley Crue,.. you get the picture. Horns up for Harefest at Clackamas County Fairgrounds Thursday-Saturday.

The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is Friday through Sunday.

Portland’s Hollywood Theatre is turning 100 years old on Friday! They’re doing a whole week of special screenings including their on-going series like Kung Fu Theater, Repressed Cinema, and Can You Blame Her? But Thursday night you can see Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, a day early. Starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Travis Scott... no wonder it's 2 hrs and 52 min, gotta make sure all those big names get their screen time.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Portlandia Mermaid Parade and Festival invites everyone to dress up as merfolk or other mythical water creatures Saturday, July 25, from noon to 4 p.m. The parade is free, open to all ages and you do not need to register in advance, though it is preferred on the parade website. The event begins at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and travels south to Poet’s Beach. Small decorated hand push floats, wagons, bicycles, and pedi-cabs that can fit on the sidewalk are highly encouraged.
