Alex Trebek has been the host of Jeopardy, and in our living rooms, since 1984. I remember my mom always having it on as a teenager, answering impossible questions like a boss. So it's quite sad to watch this video released by Alex today ato announce that he's been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is in good spirits about it and says he plans to continue working on Jeopardy because "He HAS TO" he just signed a contract to host for three more years!
As the news broke, fans of Trebek shared thoughts on Twitter. Ken Jennings, who set a record for the longest winning streak on “Jeopardy!,” wrote on Twitter: “I’ve said this before but Alex Trebek is in a way the last Cronkite: authoritative, reassuring TV voice you hear every night, almost to the point of ritual.
I couldn't agree more Ken.
