K103 and Concordia University are pleased to honor and support outstanding educators making a difference in the lives of students in their schools each month. Congratulations to this month’s honored educator, Keanon Lowe, Football & Track Coach at Parkrose High School in Portland, OR!
Our final K103 Honor Roll award winner of the 2018/2019 School Year is Keanon Lowe, Football & Track Coach at Parkrose High School. He’s also on the school’s security team and his heroic efforts on May 17 saved countless lives when a student showed up to school with a shotgun. Keanon didn’t hesitate for a moment and put his own life at risk by tackling that student before any shots were fired. This selfless act thrust Keanon right into the spotlight as the story was covered by national and local news and he has since been given a hero’s welcome everywhere he goes. “I’m just happy everyone was OK,” said Lowe as he walked out of the building that day.
The gratitude felt by parents, students, faculty and staff is still palpable, but Keanon remains humble and just wants life to get back to normal. But this is clearly an incident that won’t soon be forgotten.
All of us at K103, along with partners from Concordia University and CTL are deeply honored to bestow the K103 Honor Roll award to Keanon Lowe and Parkrose High School.

- Engraved Commemorative Plaque
